Visual Design Intern
Punchcut is looking for a Visual Design Intern to join our team. You should have a strong understanding of user-centered design and be comfortable working independently and in collaboration with other designers. You are currently enrolled in an academic program in a related field and are passionate about design for mobile and other emerging user interfaces such as voice, automotive, and VR/AR. You feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, creative design studio environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Visual Designer on client-facing projects
- Explore a range of visual directions and participate in client reviews to make informed selections
- Iterate and refine visual systems based on client feedback
- Create production assets and document visual systems for engineering teams as necessary
- Sketch product concepts as part of a collaborative project team
- Participate in brainstorm and collaborative activities with clients and partners
Qualifications
- Experience designing interfaces for a range of devices and formats
- Education in Visual Design, Motion Design or related fields
- Strong understanding of user-centered design theory and practice
- A strong visual design portfolio showing conceptual thinking and detailed execution
- Comfortable using design tools including Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, InVision
- Able to bring designs to life using prototyping tools or code
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Sense of humor and positive, flexible attitude

- Knowledge of iOS/Android design standards
- 3D modeling experience
- Motion design experience

Compensation
The pay range for this role is $35-50hr. Compensation within this range determined by taking into account candidate experience, business/market financials and internal pay parity.
